Instructional Sheet for Student Applicants

Please follow the steps listed below when seeking an internship:

  1. Review all internship positions listed
  2. Apply to desired positions by contacting the company representatives directly
  3. Schedule an interview(s)
  4. Prepare/update your resume
  5. Seek assistance from the Career Center regarding resume preparation and interview practice
  6. Once selected for an internship position please notify Professor Shoeleh Di Julio by sending an email to meintern@csun.edu
  7. To accept an internship position it is mandatory for students to register in ME 494A, B, C (1, 2, 3 units of credit/no credit). However ME 494 may not be available until F06 (a) Note students can obtain a maximum of six units of credit towards internship. If you obtain an internship for summer only, you may register for ME 494 in the following fall semester. •  Resident students should register in ME486C (SP 06) and then ME494C from F06 on. •  International students need to register in ME494A (in the summer) followed by ME494B (in the fall), and ME 494C (in the spring). •  Because the international students can not register in ME 486C to obtain employment permission from the Office of International Students; we are seeking a solution to accommodate the international students for the Spring 06. International students should contact Professor Di Julio for assistance.
  8. Please complete the Student Evaluation form for each semester of internship.
  9. Your supervisor will also complete the Supervisor Evaluation form.
  10. Professor Di Julio will complete the Faculty Evaluation form for each student after she visits your supervisors
  11. You need to also submit a final report at the completion of your internship term. Email your final reports to meinter@csun.edu
  12. If your internship leads into a full employment offer please notify Professor Di Julio
