Test
Plan & Results
This section should contain a description of
the planned testing for this project.
This should include a Project Test Plan and any unit test plans written
by the individual members of your team.
While it is recognized that there may not be enough time to complete
comprehensive testing of your software system, you should document what you
plan to test and include any test results obtained. For guidance in developing a test plan you
might want to look at one of the two IEEE Test Plan Templates (Template 1 or Template 2) or the MIL-STD-498 Test Plan Guidelines. By reading these documents you can see the
types of things that go into a comprehensive test plan. Pick that subset of the items outlined that
makes sense for the testing you plan to do for your project. Finally, create a Test Procedure document
containing descriptions of all the test cases (test
scripts) you plan to execute and a Test Report containing the actual
results from whatever testing you complete.
(Another example of a
test script template) Each member of
your team should write at least three test cases for your system. In addition to including these test cases in
the Test Procedure document (along with any other test cases),
they should be submitted separately to the instructor for evaluation.
