Software
Requirements Specification (SRS)
This section of the
Project Notebook should contain a complete description of the requirements for
your project. You may use the IEEE recommended
standard (IEEE std 830-1998) if
you like, but that is not required. Your
requirements specification, however, should contain all the relevant
information referred to in this document.
In addition, there are some
useful SRS guidelines available online that are based on the IEEE
standard. One is the “Systems
and Software Requirements Specification (SSRS) Template” and another is Software Requirements Specification Template. You might also find the sites “Writing
Software Requirements Specifications” and “How to Write a Software
Requirements Specification” useful.
For a sample SRS see this student
project from the University of Texas.
