Two innovative earthquake
protective techniques for
buildings called Elevation Control and Earthquake Buffer are investigated at CSUN now. They can be applied to both new and existing structures and equipment. There are no buildings too large or too small for the new systems. |

Comparative shake table testing of a regular (unprotected)
building model (the right one in each pair) and a model that employs either Elevation Control (1st pair) or equipped with Earthquake Buffers (2nd pair) is shown above. |
