This research
is to investigate analytically the instrumentally recorded performances
of base isolated buildings subject to the 1995 Hyogo (Kobe) earthquake.
The main objectives of the research
are:
· To validate the ability of some seismically isolated building structures constructed in Japan to mitigate lateral forces during severe shaking. · To compare their performances with those of similar buildings in the US. · To develop practical recommendations for earthquake engineers. |
