Hello, my name is Ellen Gershev, and I am the QA manager at XYPRO Technology Corporation.  We are approaching several “local” schools for possible summer intern candidates, and are asking for your help and guidance in identifying possible candidates from your institution.
XYPRO Technology, founded in 1983, is the worldwide leader in HP NonStop server security, compliance, audit and encryption solutions, and is located in Simi Valley, CA.
XYPRO is looking for Computer Science Summer interns to help with software testing and programming projects.  This is a paid internship with possible opportunities to continue working beyond the summer months.  We are looking for individuals who can function in a fast paced team environment and have a desire to learn new skills and technologies.  The candidates must be reliable, respectful and have good communication skills.
The expected skill set must include:
-          general understanding of contemporary software development and quality assurance testing methodologies
-          solid understanding of Microsoft Windows operating system
-          general understanding of Graphic User Interface technologies
Additional (but not mandatory, nor limited to) skill set may include:
-          UNIX experience
-          VB or other language scripting experience
-          Understanding of automated testing
-          Understanding of enterprise IT networks
The intern would be expected to work under 30 hours per week, participating in the company’s SDLC, helping the software development group with the regression testing, documentation updates, scripting, etc. The intern will have an opportunity to learn testing tools like Quality Center (QC), Quit Test Professional (QTP), and others. The intern will have an opportunity to familiarize him/herself with HP NonStop server, a computing platform training for which is not available otherwise.
The compensation will be $10/hour for the summer internship.
