a. Computer Science Senior Design Project Portfolios/Notebooks

Assessment Dates Fall 2012 – Spring 2013

Assessment Activities
to be Performed, When and by Whom:
a. Fall 2012. Form a committee of 2 or 3 to evaluate
project portfolios/notebooks.
b. Fall 2012. Define rubrics for separately assessing
quality of problems and solutions.
Problems can be evaluated for characteristics such as: practicality, industry and academic interest,
appropriate level of difficulty and complexity.
Solutions can be evaluated for characteristics such as appropriate
application of academic best practices, practicality, accurate assessment of
resources required.
c. Spring 2013. Assign committee members to read and evaluate
a selection of notebooks/portfolios, and rate both problems and solutions, and
how well the solution addresses the resource needs of the problem.
d. Spring 2013. Prepare assessment summary report.
