Santa Paula High School @ CSUN

On November 18, 2009 Santa Paula High School will be visiting CSUN as well as the Engineering Department. These students are a part of the MESA program and are interested in studying engineering at CSUN. There will be two tours and presentations for the 47 students attending. This event is being organized by Tech Squad and they have asked for our assistance. The sessions are 12:30-1:00pm and 1:00-1:30pm. It will be conducted in the CE lab 1565 during those times. I will be conducting the presentations and tours for these sessions to talk to the students about engineering and also discussing about the canoe project. We would also like to facilitate an activity for the students. If you are interesting in volunteering for this even and helping out with the activities for the students please get in contact with Concrete Canoe Captain – Filiberto Sotelo at sotelofil2@yahoo.com.

Ski Trip

Even though it feels like summertime still, it’s never too early to start thinking about a white winter. This snow season ASCE CSUN will be hosting their annual ski trip in Mammoth. The dates are set, the lodging is acquired and these tickets will sell out fast.

DATE:
11 January – 15 January

LOCATION:
Sierra Park Villas

PRICE:
$100 per ticket
$110 after November 15th

You can pay by cash or check (make checks payable to ASCE) and you can drop your payment off with Shawn Mahdavian, Shahab Shaolian, or Even Flickinger. We booked lodging to accommodate 30 people and each cabin has room for 10 people. After the initial 30 tickets are sold, we can only book further cabins in increments of 10 people, so ten tickets must be sold before we can actually book a fourth cabin.
