This research
is to investigate the ability of a new building technique called Sails-Rigging
Blast Protective Structural Shield (BPS)
to improve the survivability of a facility subjected to an explosive attack,
to determine when, where
and how BPS
technique should be applied to achieve its goal. The objectives
of the research are:
· Establish basic algorithms of a demand
on and behavior of a building equipped with BPS
exposed to an explosive attack.
· Develop a computational
procedure for the building performance evaluation.
·
Develop the articles and models for field blast testing. |
